Audi Debuts Electric Concept Car

Luxury automaker Audi today unveiled an all-electric concept car called the e-tron at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany.
Powered by a lithium-ion battery and four electric motors — two each at the front and rear axles — Audi said the two-seater accelerates from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 4.8 seconds.
Speed and style are key goals for Audi’s first fully-electric vehicle, said company spokesman Jeff Kuhlman.
“We wanted to show a concept that demonstrates the sportiness that goes along with our brand,” Kuhlman said.
According to Audi, the e-tron has a range of about 154 miles when the battery is fully charged.
But since it is a concept car, it’s unclear when, or if, Audi plans to produce a car like the e-tron.
“This is what we see as the electric vehicle offering to meet certain mandates and current market conditions,” Kuhlman said.
